Paolo Zucconi is PhD candidate at Leipzig University and Research Assistant at the Institute for Social Cohesion. Other roles include Research Associate at the Institute for Middle East, Central Asia and Caucasus Studies of the University of St. Andrews, Research Fellow at the Global Center for Security Studies and former intern at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies. He holds a postgraduate certificate in Intelligence and National Security, an MSc in International Security Studies and a BA in Political Science and International Relations.
In his current project, Paolo Zucconi investigates why and how the V4 functions have evolved from EU integration and cooperation since 2004 to the current sub-regional partnership conflicting with the EU master-narrative and political framework. His research interest and activities also include the polarization of political culture in the V4, its effects on social cohesion, and the role of Russia in East-central Europe.
