Neo-Nazi Terrorism and Countercultural Fascism in the United States: The Origins and Afterlife of James Mason’s Siege
Buchvorstellung/Lesung
James Mason’s „Siege” is often considered the bible of neo-Nazi terrorists. It champions an accelerationist ideology of decentralized attacks to cause mayhem and bring about the end of democracy. And since its release as an anthology in 1992, it has gone on to inspire new generations of far-right terrorists worldwide from the NSU to Atomwaffen Division.
At the invitation of Dr. Carl Melchers, Advisor on Antisemitism at the School of Business and Law, and Dr. Sina Arnold from the Center for Research on Antisemitism, American author Spencer Sunshine, PhD, will present his latest book. It sheds light on the origins and afterlife of one of the most dangerous texts of the extreme right. The event will be held in English and will be opened by Prof. Dr. Christoph Kopke, Faculty Dean of Department 5: Police and Security Management.
The event is hosted by the Advisor on Anti-Semitism HWR Berlin and the Center for Research on Antisemitism / Research Institute Social Cohesion.
