All sections of RISC collaborate within four institute-wide research areas:
- “Politics of Democratic Cohesion”
- “Socioeconomic Orders of Status and Distribution”
- “Infrastructures and Public Goods”
- “Cultural Dynamics of Cohesion”
In doing so, they contribute to the cross-sectional work program – Transformative Dynamics of Cohesion – during RISC’s second funding phase (2024–2029). This also includes an overarching networking and transfer strategy, as well as joint data collection. At the same time, the eleven sections (eight universities and three nonuniversity research institutions) each contribute their own profiles to RISC. They deepen regional anchoring while expanding the nationwide reach of our research and transfer activities.
